Description
Depression is something that most people will deal with sometime during their time here on earth. Having a mild case of bi-polar disorder causes me to sometimes "fall in" and out of depression....and this is what I imagine it looks like. ..
HOWEVER, I also know what it is like to fall MADLY in love! It can happen quickly, as expressed in this piece.
When I laid eyes on my husband, Kevin, almost 35 years ago, I knew deep in my heart he was the one God had chosen for me. And all I did was hear him give a short devotional at a youth retreat! When he asked me later for my address, being the shy person that I am, I also gave him my phone number! Now remember, this was back in 1978 when telephones were often attached to the wall with a long, long cord...and anyone in the house could hear what you said! By the way, he called the day after the retreat to ask me out for our very first date. . . and that DATE was the beginning of my life!
*I HOPE TO UPLOAD A MUCH CLEARER AND HIGHER PIXEL IMAGE SOON*

I did this one so long ago I can't quite remember. However, I probably did since I couldn't afford to buy the really GOOD heavy acrylics back then. I hope to update the photo of this piece soon...and maybe add some more highlights. (It now belongs to a friend of mine...I'm sure she wouldn't mind!)

Hi, Laura! I decided I better take another look at your images after you made a comment on one of my multi-media water lily pieces. I love to see how other artists are working in acrylics and mixed media. This piece caught my attention right away! Looks like you have some fun things going on texture-wise. Did you use acrylic medium as well as paint?

If this is depression I can't wait to see how you paint the opposite. This is so colorful and uplifting.
Laura Grisham replied:
Can you hear me giggling, Sharon? Chemical depression IS a battle...and I fight with COLOR and JOY!!! So, I'm not really depressed that often any more...thanks for your sweet comment.
