"Sugar" was a commissioned piece by my dear friend, Janet Carson. She wanted to give a special retirement gift to someone in her office and thought of my portraits. I'm not sure when, but "Sugar" crossed over not long ago and her owner misses her very much. I hope that this portrait will bring much peace and happiness into his life.
About Laura Grisham
As a child you could often find me quietly "painting by numbers" in my room. More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team? Although it broke my heart, I chose music and dance. You see, those areas received much more attention, and as an insecure young teenager that was one thing I strongly desired! However, deep...
