I wish that I had a better photo of this "classroom project" I did as an example for my students when I was teaching at Jacksonville Jr. High School. I'm not even sure what happened to the original...but I know it's somewhere in my school stuff!
Here is how it was created....no, I think I'll keep you guessing!
I have to say that this is actually where my stylized self-portraits began. They have evolved and changed over time but there is something about all of them that began with this piece. Hopefully I will find it and take a new photo image with a much better camera!

As a child you could often find me quietly "painting by numbers" in my room. More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team?
