He looks very laid back! ;)

Laura Grisham replied:

She is usually a little hyper fur-ball! Emma just happened to take her picture as she was falling asleep. Gizmo is so darned cute!

Oh, Laura, how darling!!! You can even see the pads of his little paws because they're all puppy chubby. You've captured such a mischiveous light in his eyes. Gizmo is such a perfect name for him and you did a truly wonderful job!!! FAV!!

Guess what... my son just reminded me...Gizmo is a GIRL! lol...Guess I need to revise my description. Thanks for your encouragement!

Artist's Description

Meet 'Gizmo' or 'Gizzy' as our family usually calls her. She is owned by my youngest niece, Emma. I promised Emma I would paint Gizzy a long time ago and have even had the image sketched on the canvas. To be quite honest, I was terrified to even TRY to paint this dog! I realized later it was the photo I was using. It was just too stiff of a pose and didn't show Gizmo's personality. Emma sent me this shot from her iPhone. I sketched it over the green background I had painted (again, over the monster!) several days ago and took out my brushes and oil pastels this afternoon. Gizmo was 'born' in just a few hours.
Emma hasn't ev...

More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team? Although it broke my heart, I chose music and dance. You see, those areas received much more attention, and as an insecure young teenager that was one thing I strongly desired! However, deep...
