Artist's Description

I hope you get the "pun" in this painting of a Bloodhound and the title given to it. When my mother tore a picture of a Bloodhound from an ad in a magazine or catalog, I immediately was drawn to the regal, "up-ity", better-than-you attitude he seemed to have. We often refer to wealthy people...those who have had money in their families for many years, as "bluebloods". Sometimes they seem to have that same snotty attitude...and that is where the "pun" come in to play!
You will notice that there are scatches in the painting. These were caused by showing the peice in art shows and various other venues. My paintings are durable and protected, but this one just received a little damage along the way. I think it adds charm and a little more value to the peice.
Due to the scratches, I felt I needed to repair it. That is harder to do than it looks! So, BLUEBLOOD I became BLUEBLOOD II. Which also means that this painting is only available in print form.

As a child you could often find me quietly "painting by numbers" in my room. More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team?
