Description
Look what the DuckTape Florist came across during her travels...the rare African Wildflower! They come in two varieties: Cheetah and Zebra and blend well into the environment. These beautiful flowers are near extinction due to over-harvesting. Thanks to the hard work of environmentalist groups, they are now popping up in clusters such as these across the plains of Africa once more.
Just in case you believed my "wild" tale, these flowers were created with Duck Tape, florist wire, and bamboo skewers and placed in one of my flowerbeds to be photographed. They make an amazing bouquet for a table or a great gift for that whimsical friend who has everything.
*Send me an e-mail if you are interested in purchasing flowers that I have created OR wish to have a PDF file to download with instructions and pictures on how to create these or any of the other flowers that I make.
*PDF instructions will soon be available for purchase on eBay and/or Etsy

Bruce Combs - REACH BEYOND
No, Laura. You are taking my foolishness incorrectly, as if I could and would speak literally, intelligently, and seriously. I meant only fun -- for me first, if not only, I guess -- and I thought such "playful teasing" was a sign acknowledging high regard. Especially my numerous other sort of parched academic style comments praising your very wide different styles ("The Song is You;" [hear Sinatra?] "The painting not easy to discern from the painter," -- [to convolute Yeats, who is among poets I respect -- also enjoy! -- the most]. So, in a large summer squash shell: I have very high regard for your talent and creativity and technical finesse in constructing objects of graphic art. Further, I don't at the moment think of any artist so ubiquitously experimenting, and especially daring to follow her "instincts," and most unique, a willingness voluntarily (almost becoming an obligation, so many people have praised them so highly!) to provide ample candid details of the circumstances and methods AND CONTENTS of her "organically grown" paintings! [If only our Food and Drug Administration would require the same labeling for foods!] So as a last wise word, for now, Laura, your ending to your reply just above -- YOU ALREADY HAVE the GUIDANCE (see Proverbs 4 verse 23, and the painting thus named), and then mull your own words a bit more. Then get in there and paint your elbows off and don't ever stop -- unless you feel guided to. Peace, etc., Bruce
Laura Grisham replied:
Bruce: I will, just as you, continue to follow God's leading and create until I take my very last breath... Thank you my dear, dear friend, Laura

Bruce: I think I get what ;you are trying to say...why am I fooling around with duck tape when I should be using that time to paint. Am I right? Maybe it's because I needed a distraction for a while; or maybe because I have not sold a painting in, well, it seems like forever. Making flowers from duck tape and selling them for a few bucks at least brings in, well, a few bucks! Looks like we need to have one of our "artist to artist" conversations so that you can flat out tell me what you think...THAT'S what I need...guidance. Blessings, Laura

Laura, I applaud your many talents, not the least of which is your sense of humor. Bravo! V
Laura Grisham replied:
You made me laugh, Cheri. I'm almost more excited that you enjoy my sense of humor than my art!

These really look good. Did you photo out front in the flower bed? mom
Laura Grisham replied:
Yep...right in one of our shrubs that was just beginning to bud. The branches are a red color and I thought it looked, well, "jungle-ly" !
Chrisann Ellis
Laura, This is Stunning! You are so talented... and beautiful designs... :) fav/vote/promote!
Laura Grisham replied:
Chrisann: you and I could have a BALL making these things together...so, when are you coming here for a visit or am I going to have to come to you? As for talent, you just have to get used to using sticky scissors to do this stuff! Love you....

Excellent - so much work in this! it was a pleasure - you did make really very good shots - photo and art print are perfect compliment to decor.
Laura Grisham replied:
You are right Alisa... it took many hours to create all these flowers! And I was so excited about photographing them in just the right setting that I ended up doing it today in the pouring rain! Thanks for taking the time to write.
