Artist's Description

Lying in the middle of a field of grass and looking at the stars was one of my favorite things to do as a child. It made me feel just how small I was and how BIG God is. Those were times of deep thought and wondering about the future. They were pleasant dreams and plans of college, marriage, children...all the good things. But, I forgot about the things that can go wrong in your life. Things such as sickness, pain, loss, and death. So now, I return the dreams of my youth...only back then I had no idea who VanGogh was!

As a child you could often find me quietly "painting by numbers" in my room. More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team?
