I absolutely LOVE to look at this painting! The rose appears to be coming OUT to you due to the perspective. Many, many glazes gives the rose hues I never knew existed in nature. The black india ink glue lines are thick, squiggly and demand to be touched. Although this is a watercolor painting, it has been covered in several layers of artist varnish in order for it to be framed without glass. You can actually reach out and TOUCH the lines...feel the leaves and the rose petals. It has been professionally framed in a Gold (w/red touches) wooden frame.

As a child you could often find me quietly "painting by numbers" in my room. More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team?
