Description
When I was asked to paint a "Yorkie" via e-mail, I wasn't thrilled with the first photo the owner sent. I couldn't see the coloring or the dog's expression very well. So, I asked her to send more...and thank goodness she did. The photo used to paint GROVER was actually of him in the backseat of her car sitting by a drink cup from 'Sonic'! The way his head was cocked to one side and his tongue just barely sticking out was exactly what I was looking for!
Working on GROVER came easily...when I have a great photo to work from everything falls into place. I feel as though I know this little fellow very, very well. I will hate to see him go. But, his owner will soon adorn her walls with a colorful image of her beloved Grover, and I will just have to get on with my life without him.
Bye, Grover...it was truly a blessing to get to know you...

Thanks so much for your wonderful comments! I paint what I see, really, and in the photo "Grover" had his little, pink tongue sticking out...his owner said he ALWAYS looks that way!
