Description
This is a photo of my father taken somewhere between 1960-1965. He was in the US Navy and served during the Viet Nam war. He worked on planes and knew every single inch of them. He flew the last flight of what we called "piggy boats"...which are actually planes that floated in the water along the coastlines to radio information to those in charge. It was a dangerous job, but he loved it.
Daddy retired from service in 1967. He had served for 12 years and had been asked to return to Viet Nam for a 3rd 12-18 month deployment. Thank goodness he just couldn't do it. It was at that time that we moved back to dad's home state of Arkansas.
My dad was a great man who saw and experienced the terrible effects of war. These things never leave you. They haunted him until his passing in February 2010. God bless America.

Laura Grisham replied:
My dad was a man with many demons...he got them all while serving our country. I am so glad he finally was able to love and be loved several years before he left this world. He was a good man, a wonderful father and a devoted husband...and he loved God with all his heart.
