"First Sign of Spring" is a mixture of watercolor, acrylic, india ink glue and metalic paint. I love the bulbs that I have planted and take photo's of them every year. This painting was inspired by LAST years blooms! The original is currently available in a professionally framed, gold-tone wooden frame. Go ahead and bring a little COLOR inside!
About Laura Grisham
As a child you could often find me quietly "painting by numbers" in my room. More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team? And you, "Miss Chris", keep me wanting to create! This piece is another one I used the black glue lines to do. I did it on clay board instead of watercolor paper. It was one of my favorites.
