Description
"Because I Care" was a commissioned piece for a woman who just lost her husband to cancer. Her friend knew how much she loved red sunflowers and asked that I create a special piece just for her to remind her how much she cared.
The background is full of cracks and bumps that give it a "grecian" feel. There is so much paint and glue used in the work that it has taken at least a week to dry...and that is before I put on the finishing touch of artist varnish.
This is not a painting for the faint of heart. It begs to be touched and experienced.
I am honored to have played a part in bringing beauty from ashes to this young woman through this painting of red sunflowers.

Gosh Lil...I'm speechless! I absolutely love painting with palette knives and acrylic mediums, which is what I did here. Your opinion means the world to me and having you say this is my "signature" has given me new direction. And...there is this "masterpiece that I've wanted to rework for some time...I now have the courage to do it***

Laura, you know I love your artwork. This is so gorgeous, I can't believe I didn't see it before. I LOVE your texturing and layering of the paints. You are correct that it does have that antique feel, gilded Grecian, rough and contrasting. The colors are vibrantly red against the gorgeous background and painted with fabulous strokes. I see why your reworked masters are so good. I really think this is your signature! F/V
