Description
This little lady evolved from paper scraps, ribbon, sequins, plastic snowflakes, and a couple of feathers. Oh, and she was painted and created over an existing painting that, well, just did not fit my fancy.
WILL YA LOOKY THERE was the first thing that came to mind as I painted her eyes looking at the snowflake on her carrot nose. She reminded me so much of the northern accent I so rarely have the pleasure of hearing here in the deep South. My mother is from Maine and I used to love to hear my grandfather talk, even though many times I did not understand a word he said!
We rarely get snow here in central Arkansas, but when we do you can bet there will not be a single loaf of bread or a gallon of milk left at any of our MANY Wal-Mart locations! Even the WORD snow is not mentioned by our weathermen in fear of being harrassed by children on the street when the snow fails to make it's debut. But, in the North it is just another day! People drive, walk their dogs, go to school, etc. However, this little Northern gal was lucky enough to actually have a full and complete snowflake land on her long, orange nose. And that, my friend, makes it a very SPECIAL snow day!
